My name is Michael Powell and I am a final year student at the University of Derby, studying Computing. I am a avid gamer ever since my first console, a Sega Mega Drive. During my years at Swanmore Secondary School I got heavily into PC gaming and joined many clans, sustaining game and VOIP servers for matches and practices. It was this that drew me to become a programmer.

I keep up to date with all game industry news and technology via many different websites and magazines, as well as playing some of the more unique and top rated games on the market. I am also working on my own projects at the moment, from game design documents to fully running programmes.

I have experience coding in multiple languages including Java, php, C++, VB, C# and Direct X, I have also used the Unreal engine and the Unreal script to create Mods. I also have experience using Visual Studio 2008 and 2005, ASP.NET, SQL server and mysql and the Playstation Portable development kit.
